Division 9 of the California Public Resources Code allows resource conservation districts to appoint non-voting associate directors to provide additional expertise to the Board in the areas of natural resources conservation and management, agricultural and grazing management practices, environmental health, land use, engineering, physical and life sciences, public outreach and education, local government policy and procedures. Associate directors are appointed for a two year term which my be renewed by a majority vote of the Board. No more than five associates shall serve at one time.
