Home Hardening and Defensible Space Workshop
The Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council is hosting a free one day Home Hardening and Defensible Space Workshop (RSVP required) that is being taught on both Friday and Saturday March 24th and 25th 10am-1:30pm. Friday is in person only and Saturday has an in-person or virtual option. In person attendees get free lunch and free raffle tickets. The workshop will be recorded and posted on our website at a later date for those that could not make it.
Additionally, on Saturday from 2-5:30pm there is a free extended Public Exposition where people can explore upfront different home hardening and defensible space options with live demos, interactive exhibits, learn to use a fire extinguisher, vent retrofit demos, sign up for free home evaluations, and most importantly listen to a talk about the Future of Wildfire Insurance at 2pm from an expert who is a retired CalFire chief and because he is retired he won't just give the generic company line about wildfire insurance! This talk will also be live streamed, but the in-person exhibits are in-person.
