Pollinator hedgerows are dense plantings of vegetation in a linear design to enhance pollen, nectar and nesting habitat for pollinators. Hedgerows can also provide habitat for other wildlife including predaceous and beneficial invertebrates as a component of an integrated pest management plan. Hedgerows can offer food, cover or shade for aquatic organisms in adjacent streams and can increase carbon storage.
We can help you design and plant effective pollinator hedgerows. Our pilot project at Midland School contributed to the production of this NRCS guidance document: 2015 Hedgerow Planting, Pollinators
